More Action, Less Tea 1 This work resulted from the attempt to run customary electrical appliances with bicycle dynamos. In this work two dynamos are driven by a crank to generate enough voltage to operate a cassette radio. More Action, Less Tea 2 In this work one could illuminate a light bulb by cranking on a bicycle dynamo. Instead of producing power from the crank onto the dynamo directly, the turning moment was transferred to a gear (itself consisting of several belts and wheels), which was installed below the ceiling. The wheels were arranged in such a way, however, that through the transmission the initial turning moment from the crank did not increase at all, but rather greatly decreased, instead. As a result, even the brisk winding of the crank could only bring the light bulb to a light flicker. |
